Learn what an integration is, when you need one, and how to add provider credentials in the dashboard. An integration connects your own provider account to Vapi, so a provider runs on your credentials instead of Vapi's. Use one when you want to run a provider on your own account, for example to use your own plan, rate limits, or custom models. This guide shows you how to add a provider's credentials to Vapi. ## How it works By default, Vapi provides access to its supported providers, so you can select a voice, model, or transcriber on an assistant without any setup. You only add an integration when you want to use your own account with a provider. When you add your own credentials for a provider, Vapi uses your account with that provider. If you don't add an integration, Vapi's default access is used. ## Prerequisites * An account with the provider you want to connect. * That provider's API key or credentials, with access to every endpoint Vapi calls for that provider. > **Note** > > Some providers let you restrict API keys to specific endpoints, while others do not. When a provider supports endpoint restrictions, grant access to every endpoint Vapi uses. Check the provider's page under [Voices](/providers/voice/overview), [Models](/providers/model/overview), or [Transcribers](/providers/transcriber/overview) for provider-specific API key requirements. ## Steps #### Open Integrations in the dashboard In the [Vapi Dashboard](https://dashboard.vapi.ai), open **Integrations**. #### Select the provider Choose the provider you want to connect from the list. #### Add your credentials Enter your provider API key or credentials and save. Vapi validates them when you save. #### Use the provider on an assistant Select the provider on an assistant as usual. Vapi now uses your account for that provider. ## Verify it works After you save, the dashboard shows the provider as connected. Select the provider on an assistant and start a call or chat to confirm it runs on your account. ## Related #### [Model providers](/providers/model/overview) The LLM providers you can use as an assistant's model. #### [Voices](/providers/voice/overview) The text-to-speech providers you can use for an assistant's voice. > Connect your own provider accounts to Vapi and use them with your own credentials ## Docs - [Transcribers (Speech-to-text)](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/transcriber/overview.md): Reference of every speech-to-text provider Vapi supports, including provider IDs and where to configure each one. - [AssemblyAI](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/transcriber/assembly-ai.md): Configure AssemblyAI speech models, multilingual transcription, language steering, and prompting for a Vapi assistant. - [Azure](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/transcriber/azure.md): Configure Azure Speech as your Vapi assistant's transcriber and select from the languages Vapi supports. - [Cartesia](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/transcriber/cartesia.md): Configure Cartesia as your Vapi assistant's transcriber, including supported languages and transcription options. - [Deepgram](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/transcriber/deepgram.md): Configure Deepgram as your Vapi assistant's transcriber, including supported models and languages. - [ElevenLabs](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/transcriber/elevenlabs.md): Configure ElevenLabs as your Vapi assistant's transcriber, including Scribe models and supported languages. - [Gladia](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/transcriber/gladia.md): Configure a Gladia transcription model, language, and provider settings for a Vapi assistant. - [Google](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/transcriber/google.md): Configure Google as your Vapi assistant's transcriber, including Gemini transcription models and supported languages. - [OpenAI](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/transcriber/openai.md): Configure OpenAI as your Vapi assistant's transcriber, including transcription models and supported languages. - [Soniox](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/transcriber/soniox.md): Connect Soniox to a Vapi assistant and configure the stt-rt-v5 real-time speech-to-text model for low-latency, multilingual transcription and endpointing. - [Speechmatics](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/transcriber/speechmatics.md): Configure Speechmatics as your Vapi assistant's transcriber and review setup guidance and supported options. - [xAI](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/transcriber/xai.md): Configure xAI as your Vapi assistant's transcriber, including supported models, languages, and transcription options. - [Model providers](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/model/overview.md): Reference of every large language model provider Vapi supports, including provider IDs and where to configure each one. - [Anthropic](https://docs.vapi.ai/providers/model/anthropic.md): Connect Anthropic to Vapi to use Claude models as your voice agent's language model.
